Wokingham Dementia Action Alliance launch event

On Tuesday May 20, from 11am to 1pm, the Wokingham Dementia Action Alliance launch event will take place at Wokingham Methodist Church, Rose Street, Wokingham.

This event celebrates the launch of the recently formed action alliance, which brings together representatives of local business, shops, community groups, charities, care homes, people with dementia and their carers. Their common aim is to make local changes to help improve the lives of those living with dementia and their carers by helping them to live independently in their local community for as long as possible.

Guest speakers include Wokingham Town Mayor Martin Bishop, executive lead at the Dementia Action Alliance Simon Kitchen, Dr Jane Hussey from the Younger People with Dementia charity (Berkshire West) and Wokingham Borough Council Cllr Bob Wyatt. There will also be a performance by the Harmony Choir formed locally by young people with dementia.
